Ocean Sounds

in Chile

We established a cooperation with the Center for Scientific Tourism / CIEP, Patagonia / Chile in 2007 during the Global Ecotourism Conference in Oslo. During 2008, 2009 and 2010 we visited Patagonia and introduced a new research and monitoring project for Scientific Tourism in Aysen. Scientific tourism can document the changes that were taking place due to human activities, such as tourism, and to conduct research with the intention of improving  the environment.

During our monitoring research field trips we could identify hot spots for marine mammals, identify over 13 different species and develop a future plan for both research and tourism in the area of Aysen.

The project is now successfully operating by different operators and the Center for Scientific Tourism in Aysen.

The people from Reserva Anihue cooperated with us for many years on this project, for more information please visit Reserva Anihue

We also work closely together with Proyecto Frontera Azul and contributed with blue whale sounds for the:

Tictoc- Melimoyu Protected Marine Area Project
